Mary Magdeline Pereira
Ms Mary Magdeline Pereira has been a Consultant in Kalco Law LLC since April 2013.
She belongs to the Pioneer Generation and believes that learning is a two-way ongoing process, and so as she shares she has much to learn too, from the Firm’s young and vibrant group of lawyers.
Mary was a teacher from 1960 till 1985. Mary embarked on a second career, graduating with LLB (Hons) University of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne in June 1996. She was tutored by Senior Lecturer John Mickleburgh. She was called to the Bar at Lincoln’s Inn as a Barrister-at-Law (England & Wales) on 12th October 2000.
During her tenure in London Mary had two sponsors (1) Michael R. King, 24 OLD Buildings, Lincoln’s Inn WC2A 3VJ and (2) the late Robert Wright QC of the Erskine Chambers, a specialist Company Law Chambers.
On 10 April 2002, she was called to the Bar in the Supreme Court of Singapore as an Advocate and Solicitor.
She received the LifeLong Learner’s Award by the Ministry of Manpower on 21 November 2003.
Mary obtained a degree in Basic Counselling from UniSIM Singapore in 2011. She is as an Accredited Associate Mediator and serves in the State Courts.
Mary is well-versed in several areas of law and was actively handling matrimonial cases, accident claims, probate and administration, bankruptcy and various other civil and commercial law matters and she admits that every case is unique and must be studied on its own facts.
Mary is a member of the Catholic Lawyer’s Guild, and is committed to do Pro Bono work on parish level.
